【摘要】:1.1Thesepracticesoutlinetheproceduresforobtainingintactblock(cubicalandcylindrical)soilsamples.1.2Intactblocksamplesareobtainedforlaboratoryteststodeterminethestrength,consolidation,permeability,andothergeotechnicalengineeringorphysicalpropertiesoftheintactsoil.1.3Twosamplingpracticesarepresented.PracticeAcoverscubicalblocksampling,whilePracticeBcoverscylindricalblocksampling.1.4Thesepracticesusuallyinvolvetestpitexcavationandarelimitedtorelativelyshallowdepths.Exceptinthecaseoflargediameter(thatis,>0.75m)boredshaftsofcircularcross-sectioninunsaturatedsoils,fordepthsgreaterthanabout1to11/2metersordepthsbelowthewatertable,thecostanddifficultiesofexcavating,cribbing,anddewateringgenerallymakeblocksamplingimpracticalanduneconomical.Fortheseconditions,useofathin-walledpushtubesoilsampler(PracticeD1587),apiston-typesoilsampler(PracticeD6519),orHollow-StemAuger(D6151),Dennison,orPitcher-typesoilcoresamplers,orfreezingthesoilandcoringmayberequired.Thispracticedoesnotaddressenvironmentalsampling;consultGuidesD6169andD6232forinformationonsamplingforenvironmentalinvestigations.1.5Successfulsamplingofgranularmaterialsrequiressufficientcohesion,cementation,orapparentcohesion(duetomoisturetension(suction))ofthesoilforittobeisolatedinacolumnshapewithoutundergoingexcessivedeformations.Additionally,caremustbeexercisedintheexcavation,preservationandtransportationofintactsamples(seePracticeD4220,GroupD).1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Nootherunitsareincludedinthisstandard.Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection.
