【摘要】:ThispracticeisapplicabletodistinguishbetweenproperlyandimproperlyextrudedPVCplasticpipe.Itcanbeusedto:2.1.1Revealincompleteexsiccationofcompoundbeforeorduringextrusion(Note1),2.1.2Determinethepresenceofstressinthepipewallproducedbytheextrusionprocess(Note2),2.1.3Determinewhetherinfusedareasarepresent,and2.1.4Revealcontamination.Note18212;Residualmoistureinthecompoundvaporizesatextrusiontemperaturesandisnormallyevacuatedasitformsvapor.Pocketsofmoisturetrappedinthepipewallresultfromincompleteexsiccationofthecompound,andmayreducethephysicalpropertiesofthepipe.Note28212;Minorresidualstressinthepipewillnotimpairfieldperformanceandhandleability.High-residualstresshasnoproveneffectonperformance,butmayimpairhandleabilityduringinstallation.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforestimatingthequalityofextrudedpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)plasticpipesbyobservingthereactionofpipespecimensafterexposuretoheat.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
