【摘要】:Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodistinguishbetweencoolantsthatcontributetocavitationcorrosionanderosion-corrosionofaluminumautomotivewaterpumpsandthosethatdonot.Itisnotintendedthataparticularratingnumber,asdeterminedfromthistest,willbeequivalenttoacertainnumberofmilesinavehicletest;however,limitedcorrelationbetweenbenchandfieldservicetestshasbeenobservedwithsingle-phasecoolants.Fieldtestsundersevereoperatingconditionsshouldbeconductedasthefinaltestiftheactualeffectofthecoolantoncavitationcorrosionanderosion-corrosionistobeappraised.Itisalsopossible,withpropercontrolofthetestvariables,todeterminetheeffectofpumpdesign,materialsofconstruction,andpumpoperatingconditionsoncavitationcorrosionanderosion-corrosiondamage.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthecavitationcorrosionanderosion-corrosioncharacteristicsofaluminumautomotivewaterpumpswithcoolants.Note1Duringthedevelopmentofthistestmethod,itwasfoundthatresultsobtainedwhentestingtwo-phasecoolantsdidnotcorrelatewithresultsfromfieldtests.Therefore,thetestmethodcannotberecommendedasbeingasignificanttestfordeterminingcavitationeffectsoftwo-phasecoolants.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin.
