【摘要】:Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedtodetermineeitherthesewnseamstrengthoftextilesortheefficiencyofaseamassemblywithanygivenfabric.Additionally,theseamstrengthsofdifferentfabricscanbecompareddirectlybyusingoneofthestandardseamassembliesspecifiedinTable1.Becausecurrentinformationaboutlaboratoryprecisionisincomplete,comparativetestsmaybeadvisable.Incaseofdisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldperformcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensfromthesamelotoffabrictobeevaluated,whichutilizealikeseamassembly(orstandardseamassembly).Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbedeterminedandcorrected,orthepurchaserandsuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.Thistestmethoddeterminestheseamefficiencyofaspecifiedseamassemblywitheachfabric.Becauseseamefficiencyvarieswitheachfabric,oneofthestandardseamassemblies,asnotedinTable1,shouldbeusedwhencomparingtheseamstrengthofdifferentfabrics.Table1liststhedefaultseamassemblyspecificationstobeusedforfabricsmadewithfine,mediumandheavycountyarns.Ifadeterminationcannotbemadeastowhichseamisthebestsuitedforaparticularfabric,allshouldbeevaluated.Seamspreparedforthistestmethodshouldbemadebycompetentfactorysewingoperatorsfamiliarwiththepotentialfordamagetotheintegrityofthesewnseamwhenstitchingisimproperlydone.(SeeNote2.)Note38212;Ifcompetentfactorysewingoperatorsarenotaccessible,alaboratorytechnicianfamiliarwiththepotentialfordamageofanimproperlysewnseammaypreparetheseamedtestspecimens.Itisimperativeforpurchaser/suppliertounderstandtheimpactanimproperlysewnseamwillhaveontestresults.)Thistestmethodisapplicablewheneveradeterminationofeffectivesewnseamstrength,thatis,theoptimumseaminteraction,isrequired.Thebreakingforceoftheseamandfabricwillpermitdeterminationofseamefficiency.Thistestmethodcanaidindeterminingoptimumseaminteractionforanygivenfabricbycomparingthepropertiesofthefabricwithandwithoutseams.Seamengineeringtechniquesforspecificfabrictypescanalsobedeterminedbyutilizingthistestmethod.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminewhenthesewnseamisaffectedbyseamslippage.Whiletheultimateconsequenceofthisphenomenonisrupture,seamslippagegreaterthaneitherthevaluesstatedincustomerspecifications,orasagreeduponbypurchaser/suppliermayseverelyreducetheintegritysuchthattheproductcannotbeusedforitsintendedpurpose.(Anexampleofacommonlyusedseamslippagevalueis6x00B1;1mm[0.25x00B1;0.04in.]).1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthesewnseamstrengthinwovenfabricsbyapplyingaforceperpendiculartothesewnseams.Note18212;ThegrabtestprocedureinTestMethodD5034shallbeusedtodetermineanycharacteristicinfabricthatcanaffectthemeasurementofsewnseamstrength.1.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletosewnseamsobtainedfromapreviouslysewnarticleorseamssewnwithfabricsamples......
